Nostalgia - Driven Sandwiches

Big Kids

Ryan Pfeiffer may have been chef de cuisine at Blackbird, but he never felt like the highbrow kitchens of Michelin-starred restaurants matched his personality or approach to food. So when the opportunity arose for him to collaborate on a restaurant with a friend, the New Orleans chef Mason Hereford (Turkey and the Wolf, Molly’s Rise and Shine), Pfeiffer knew that something very different was in order. The result is Big Kids, a Logan Square sandwich shop with some serious personality—and seriously good sandwiches to match. At Time Out Market Chicago, feast on ‘90s-inspired creations like a Chicago-style Philly, which comes stacked  with shaved beef, beef jus- caramelized onions, a smear of roasted garlic mayo and giardiniera, or Boom Boom tater tots covered in shredded cheese and a healthy dusting of secret spice. With a rotating menu of sandwiches and snacks, Big Kids is sure to satisfy your every craving (munchies-related or otherwise).
